Naming Names : Republicans

All politics aside, Republicans have some of the wackiest names I’ve ever heard.

There’s Newt Gingrich (named for an amphibian), Jeb Bush, Mitt Romney (named after a piece of baseball equipment), Trent Lott (what’s a Trent?), Haley Barbour (named after an actress who played Pollyanna?), Connie Mack (this is a male, is this like “A Boy Called Sue” ?)

Given how Republicans are considered "conservative" do you see the irony in these name? I’m a bit verklempt, talk amongst yourselves …
